Community Partners and Programs
Funded:
Central VT Community Action (CVCAC):
United
Way supports their "Emergency" fund. This fund
provides financial assistance to people during
emergency and/or crisis situations (rent, food, fuel
assistance). |

Lamoille Home Health &
Hospice:
Our
United Way funds their "Homemaker" program, helping
seniors with basic needs, such as meal preparation,
laundry, vacuuming, grocery shopping, etc. |

Lamoille County Court
Diversion:
United Way funding is used to support interventions
designed to reduce truancy and increase
school completion rates. |

Clarina Howard Nichols
Center:
Our
United Way funds their "Building Healthy
Relationships" program which teaches school-age
children about appropriate and healthy behaviors. |
|
Meals on Wheels:
Meals on
Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to the elderly
and people with physical challenges. (Approximately 36,000 meals per
year delivered!) |

Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP & Volunteer
Center of Lamoille Valley):
Coordinates volunteer services to Lamoille County
organizations. RSVP coordinates people over
55, VCLV coordinates those under 55. |

Maple Leaf Farm
(located in Underhill):
Funding helps Lamoille County residents overcome
their alcohol or chemical dependency. Again, funds
given to Maple Leaf from our United Way are only
used for their Lamoille County patients.
Lamoille Family Center:
Our United Way funds their "Learning Together"
program, an alternative program for pregnant and
parenting teens (up to age 22) where the students
are able to receive their high school diploma or GED.
On-site childcare and transportation assistance is
available. |

We also
have two special funds:
4 to assist
Lamoille County residents who have physical
challenges with ramp building, bathroom
modifications, etc. |

to assist people experiencing emergency/crisis
situations. Those receiving help must agree to
participate in our "Helping Hands Project" - that is, to volunteer time in the community.
Ex: $100 = 1 hour of volunteer service. |
