Other VT United Ways

Community Partners and Programs Funded:

Central VT Community Action (CVCAC): United Way supports their "Emergency" fund.  This fund provides financial assistance to people during emergency and/or crisis situations (rent, food, fuel assistance).

Lamoille Home Health & Hospice: Our United Way funds their "Homemaker" program, helping seniors with basic needs, such as meal preparation, laundry, vacuuming, grocery shopping, etc.

Lamoille County Court Diversion: United Way funding is used to support interventions designed to reduce truancy and increase school completion rates.

Clarina Howard Nichols Center: Our United Way funds their "Building Healthy Relationships" program which teaches school-age children about appropriate and healthy behaviors.

Meals on Wheels: Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to the elderly and people with physical challenges.  (Approximately 36,000 meals per year delivered!)

Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP & Volunteer Center of Lamoille Valley): Coordinates volunteer services to Lamoille County organizations.  RSVP coordinates people over 55, VCLV coordinates those under 55.

Maple Leaf Farm (located in Underhill): Funding helps Lamoille County residents overcome their alcohol or chemical dependency.  Again, funds given to Maple Leaf from our United Way are only used for their Lamoille County patients.

Lamoille Family Center: Our United Way funds their "Learning Together" program, an alternative program for pregnant and parenting teens (up to age 22) where the students are able to receive their high school diploma or GED.  On-site childcare and transportation assistance is available.

We also have two special funds:

4 to assist Lamoille County residents who have physical challenges with ramp building, bathroom modifications, etc.

4 to assist people experiencing emergency/crisis situations.  Those receiving help must agree to participate in our "Helping Hands Project" - that is, to volunteer time in the community.  Ex: $100 = 1 hour of volunteer service.
Call the United Way office at 888-3252 for more information about these funds.
